For 20 years the International Research Project (IRP) has been organizing a yearly study trip abroad. The IRP consists of a research project conducted by internationally oriented students who have an interest in marketing. In the summer of 2012 the International Research Project will be travelling to Vietnam to conduct research assigned by Dutch companies.

Last summer, the IRP traveled to Brazil. During the IRP alumni reception last week, we asked former participants why students should apply for the IRP. The following was mentioned: ‘’It is an indescribable experience. You will learn things you never expected to learn. You work hard, but ultimately it’s all worth it’’ (IRP Brazil, 2011). Another student, who preferred to stay anonymous, described it as follows: “You should join because of your resume, but also because you are left with a damn good holiday!’’.

In 2010, the IRP visited India. We asked a participant the same question and he confirmed the above: ‘’Why students should apply? The chance to work in the heart of the Indian businesses community and then travel through the country for a month makes the IRP an unforgettable experience’’. Indeed, after the four weeks of research in July, you will have the opportunity to travel in August. In September the reports will be finalized and the results will be presented to the clients.
